To the voters of the Greene County School district:
I am writing to urge support of the school bond issue election on April 3.
I feel we have an obligation to “pay it forward” the way previous generations have done for students and families. The voters approved the current high school building which opened in 1967, and then voted for the new elementary school which was opened in 1992.
In both cases the bond issue approvals provided state-of-the-art educational facilities to replace outdated buildings and equipment. The new elementary school included a computer lab, something that is now a “must” in all modern schools.
The current middle school has classrooms too small for modern educational methods, and doesn’t even have a lunchroom.
It’s time for us to step up to the plate and provide for our district’s students in the way previous generations have done.
